Botulinum toxin (Botox®, Vistabel®, Dysport®)
Is used to smooth expression lines caused by repeated muscle contractions: forehead lines, frown lines (between the eyebrows) and crow's feet (around the eyes). By relaxing the targeted muscles, it visibly reduces wrinkles without affecting the natural expressiveness of the face.
The injection is performed in the clinic, without anaesthesia or with topical anaesthetic cream (EMLA). Results become visible from the 3rd or 4th day. Side effects are minimal: slight redness may appear for a few hours before fading. The effect lasts 4 to 6 months in the first year, and gradually extends with subsequent sessions.
Main contraindications: pregnancy, breastfeeding, recent use of aspirin or corticosteroids, active inflammatory skin condition.
Fillers - Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid injections (dermal fillers) smooth wrinkles and folds, restore volume to hollow areas and redefine facial contours. The most commonly treated areas include nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lips, cheekbones, under-eye hollows and the jawline.
Hyaluronic acid is a biodegradable, synthetic product that is gradually reabsorbed over several months. Sessions last between 10 minutes and 1 hour depending on the areas treated. Mild redness or slight swelling may appear in the hours following the injection and generally resolve within 1 to 3 days. The final result is visible after a few days, once the product has fully integrated and any swelling has subsided.
Please note: filler injections are not a substitute for surgery. Significant tissue sagging (jowls, excess skin) can only be corrected through aesthetic surgery.
