Renuvion J-Plasma
What is Renuvion J-plasma?
Renuvion (ou J-Plasma) is a non-surgical procedure for skin tightening. Also known as J-Plasma or J-Plasty, the procedure tightens and refreshes loose skin without the need for invasive surgery, extended downtime, or large surgical scars. This precision repair is unique because plastic surgeons can apply controlled heat to target specific areas for skin tightening.
How does renuvion skin tightening work?
For the Renuvion procedure, the specialist creates a small entry point placing the device just under the skin. Once the device is in place, the specialist releases pro helium gas and radiofrequency (RF) to create a precise stream of energy (plasma).
This energy generates enough heat to contract the skin while, at the same time, excess helium gas cools the treatment area. This combination of energy contracts the tissues just under the skin, which tightens it.

Renuvion can be combined with liposuction when excess fat is present alongside skin laxity.
Skin Tightening with Renuvion J-Plasma
Renuvion™ (also known as J-Plasma Renuvion) uses a unique energy source combining radiofrequency with ionized helium gas (plasma). This revolutionary technique produces a higher level of heat with an almost instantaneous cooling rate, preventing any risk of burns.
This heat, applied beneath the skin in a non-invasive, targeted way - and therefore without risk of burns -triggers stronger skin retraction and faster firming.
Results are visible immediately, though the final outcome is best assessed several months after the procedure. It takes some time for the neocollagenesis induced in the deep layers of the dermis to noticeably improve not only skin tension but also its overall appearance.
How the Procedure Works
The surgical procedure is performed on an outpatient basis, under local or general anesthesia. Treatment time per area is 15 to 30 minutes, not including liposuction.
Dr. Gherissi uses a single-use handpiece cannula that heats subcutaneous tissue to 85 degrees while dispersing helium - an excellent conductor of electromagnetic waves that also has the advantage of immediately cooling the tissue, thereby preventing any risk of burns.
The practitioner moves the device very slowly, at a rate of about one centimeter per second, to give the plasma effect time to act on the skin.
Renuvion™ J-Plasma technology is highly reliable, as the system automatically shuts off if the handpiece stops moving or comes too close to the skin. This eliminates any risk of burns.
RENUVION™ J-Plasma as a Complement to Liposuction
Combining Renuvion with superficial liposuction is an excellent technical pairing for treating localized superficial fat deposits, particularly cellulite, when accompanied by skin laxity.
The consistency of results achieved with J-Plasma Renuvion allows for very superficial treatment without creating irregularities or risk of burns, making it an ideal complement to superficial liposuction for treating cellulite that combines small fat deposits with loose skin.
Finally, J-Plasma Renuvion™ is also an ideal complement to liposuction for larger fat deposits, particularly in areas (neck, inner thighs, abdomen, arms, back, etc.) where tissue retraction is difficult to achieve and where liposuction alone is not enough to produce satisfactory skin tightening.
